What does it mean to lose motivation and how to get motivated?

    So, what does it mean to lose motivation? Well before we delve into what it means to become demotivated, we must first learn and of course understand what motivation is and how it works. scientists define motivation as your general willingness to do something. It is the set of psychological forces that compel you to take action. Motivation is often a result of the action, not the cause of it. So, when we feel like not doing the tasks we should be doing, it’s our bodies telling us that something is off or something is wrong with it. You may feel down and are not mentally stable enough to handle work right now and you MUST understand that it is normal and ok to feel that way. OK lang ang makaramdam ng demotivation because everyone has those types of days.

    Bago ka bumalik sa mga school works mo you must take care of yourself first (this is a priority, whether you feel demotivated or not) so that you can perform well on the tasks you are going to do. Figuring out what’s wrong may seem simple but it isn’t. based on what I’ve experienced kasi siyempre ‘di maiiwasan na ‘di maramdaman na ayaw ko gawin ang mga assignments ko during online setup, finding why I didn’t feel ok took so long kasi not passing requirements wasn’t a viable option for me. The world doesn’t stop when you stop so even though I needed time to find what’s wrong, time and school works did time allow that. And let me tell you, performing at 10% at school led me to feel worse than I felt before because I didn’t feel like I was giving my all on the assigned tasks. So, I let a few assignments be submitted late and figured myself out first. After figuring everything out I finally felt that I can perform to the best of my abilities at school. Taking a step back from everything was hard but was needed for me to get where I am right now.

    Now after sorting what’s the cause of your demotivation and you start feeling better, how do you feel motivated and stay motivated. Getting started, even in very small ways, is a form of active inspiration that naturally produces momentum because once the task has begun, it is easier to continue moving forward.

Now, here are some tips and tricks as to how to get motivated and how to stay motivated:

  • Schedule your motivation- an article in The Guardian summarized this by saying, "if you waste resources trying to decide when or where to work, you'll impede your capacity to do the work." setting a schedule may seem like a simple task, but it puts your   decision-making on autopilot by giving your goals a time and place to live. it makes it more likely for you to follow through regardless of your motivation levels.

  • Make a ritual- the work of the top creatives isn't dependent upon motivation or inspiration, but rather their discipline to follow a consistent pattern or routine. The power of a ritual is what provides a mindless way to initiate your behavior or habit. it makes starting your habits easier and that means following through on a consistent basis is easier.

  • Make motivation a habit

Step 1: A good pre–game routine starts by being so easy that you can’t say no to it. You shouldn’t need motivation to start your pre–game routine.

Step 2: Your routine should get you moving toward the end goal.

Step 3: You need to follow the same pattern every single time.

Try to follow the 3r's of habit formation when doing this. it goes: Reminder, Routine, Reward.
