1. Agahan: Silog
You can never go wrong with eating Silog early in
the morning to start the day right. Silog or sinangag with itlog is basically
garlic rice and egg which can be partnered with other dishes like bangus,
hatdog, tapa and many more! Silog can be made to your liking which makes this
dish perfect for everyone.

2. Agahan: "Pandesal"
If you like something that is simple in the
morning, pandesal will be your go-to food. Partnered with coffee makes this
food great to start your day. Imagine waking up early and then sitting against
a window eating pandesal with coffee, planning your day ahead.

3. Tanghalian: Menudo
After eating your delicious agahan, next up is
tangahalian. Menudo with rice will always make your mouth water. This dish includes pork, potatoes, carrots,
tomato sauce, and hatdog. Reminder! Don’t forget the hot steaming rice to compliment
the sweetness of your menudo. Enjoy this with cold juice or water to keep your
body hydrated.

4. Meryenda: Fishballs
Fishballs, commonly known as tusok-tusok in the
Philippines, is a great meryenda dish. It can be seen in the streets together
with squidballs, kikiam, qwek-qwek and more! Street vendors often sell
fishballs during hapon between 4pm to 6pm because people usually go out during
those hour. It is partnered with different sauce that you can choose from. You
can have the sweet sauce, spicy sauce or the suka (vinegar) mixed with
different flavors to make your meryenda perfect!
4. Meryenda: Halo-halo
This meryenda is perfect for the country’s hot
weather. This is a dish mixed with different toppings. The thing about halo-halo
is that you can put anything that you like. You can add saging na saba, red
monggo, langka, kaong, nata de coco, corn, leche flan, and many more! Mix this
in ice and milk to make the dish milky and cold, perfect for the weather!
5. Hapunan: Adobo
After a hard day’s work, you can eat adobo with
your family. Adobo can be either made with chicken or pork and can be dry or
with some sabaw to put on your rice. It can also be sweet or spicy. What I am
trying to say is that Adobo in the Philipines has a lot of kinds based on where
you came from. It shows the culture of that place which makes this dish special
for every Filipino. Don’t forget to partner this with rice and enjoy this with
your family!
Of course, those are not the only ones that the
Filipino cuisine has to offer. Filipinos like to cook for their loved ones and
they create these dishes to show how special they are to them. They help
connect people closer together because they know that these dishes are special.
After a day of eating Filipino dishes, people’s taste buds will crave for more
because of the unique flavors that Filipinos put in their dishes.
Thank you for reading this blog. I enjoy
recommending my people’s dishes and show everyone how great it is to be
Filipino.
